Bug Description
URL: http://
The "Configuring a Compute Node" page instructs the user to install the client portions of nova-compute and delete the sqlite file generated, but never instructs the user to add the mysql connection parameters in /etc/nova/nova.conf needed for the service to interact with the rest of the cluster. Unless I managed to mess up my install some other way, I believe this results in an orphaned compute node that can't talk to the database and some really confusing behavior.

Strange - this was in there before - it must have been removed accidentally.
For your reference: nova-compute no longer needs database access, since it is now mediated by the nova-conductor service. However, when using multi_host mode with nova-network, it is still required.
