Dexconf syntax error?

Bug Description

Running dexconf (as done by apt on upgrading the xserver-common package) gives
the following error message
/usr/bin/dexconf: line 523: syntax error: unexpected end of file

This occurs with xserver-common version 6.8.1-1ubuntu12
