Bug Description

Since upgrading to saucy, I've seen a lot of memory consumption with unity-panel-service, leading to menus taking a second or two to draw when simply hovering over File, View, etc.

affects me too, my panel service was over 645 MB RSS with one cpu pegged at 100% before I restarted my desktop (up time was about a week).
