Bug Description

On a computer of mine, Ubuntu 13.04 was working fine the last time I booted a few days ago.
Now I turn on the computer, it shows the usual boot menu, I choose Ubuntu, it shows the Ubuntu splash screen, and then it show a black text screen which says:

BusyBox v1.20.2 (Ubuntu 1:1.20.0-0ubuntu1) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

(initramfs)_

where the "_" is the blinking cursor.

My ubuntu is dead!

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1241388/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Yeah, only that I don't have the most remote idea what package may be responsible of this bug.

By the way, Boot Repair fixed this, which doesn't make it any less of a huge critical bug.

How did you use Boot Repair to fix this?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect BUGNUMBER
When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

Unfortunately Raring is no longer a supported release. However, it was when this bug was reported. Please change the status back to confirmed if you reproduce this with a supported release[0].
