Bug Description

Looks like some conf packages have changed in MATE 1.6 / Mint 15. This is what their site says:

[...] many of its deprecated packages and libraries were replaced with new technologies available in GLib.
The following MATE technologies were removed:
- mateconf was replaced with gsettings
- matecorba and matecomponent were replaced with dbus
- matevfs was replaced with gio/gvfs
- libmatenotify was replaced with libnotify
- libmate, libmateui, libmatecanvas, libmatecomponentui and mate-mime-data were discontinued

When trying to install dockbarx-mate package this is what I get:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
dockbarx-mate : Depends: mate-conf but it is not installable
Depends: mate-conf-common but it is not installable

With LMDE ( last update over jessie's repositories & mate 1.6 ), dockbarx-mate installs but is not visible anymore in the applets list. Seems to be impossible to use on mate panel.

Mate 1.6 has changed from mateconf to GSettings and GObjectIntrospection. Are there any developers that could fix this?

Dependency on mate-conf, but mate-conf is not in repos (alternative mate-desktop-environment-core) in 1.8.1 so the package dockbarx-mate.deb is not installable on Debian Wheezy - Mate 1.8.1 (trying to install package via dpkg -i )

Is this still being worked on or should I consider the dream as dead? That would suck if DockbarX died at the hands of Unity, mostly because I don't want to use Unity
