Dash sometimes does not search for applications when online results are turned off

Dash stops searching for locally installed applications whenever I turn of the online results feature from privacy settings. Sometimes Unity immediately stops returning results for apps and sometimes it takes a restart for the bug to appear.

I'm using a 2013 MBPro with Intel Graphics.

Owais, is this an intermittent problem? I sometimes get no results found when I type in an application name but other times it is ok. Also if it shows nothing then if I hit backspace to delete the last character then it often (maybe always) starts working. Is this what you are seeing or am I seeing a different issue.

Yes, I do experience what you are explaining from time to time but turning off the 'online search results' is the only definite way I've found to reproduce this issue.

1. Does the problem arise every time when online search results are enabled, or is it sometimes ok?
2. With online search results disabled do you ever see the problem?
3. When you see the problem, if you hit backspace as I described, do the results then appear?
4. If yes is that both with online search enabled and disabled?

It happens every time.

>> They do, as far as I've observed.

>> When online search is disabled, hitting backspace does not fix it. Apps don't show up.

I should also mention that the app lens does show the results even with online search disabled but apps don't appear in global results.
