Bug Description

I'm using a fairly standard version of the system, with the "proposed" and "backports" repos disabled.

I have some PPAs added, but they're stable for the most part and/or shouldn't have anything to do with the issue.

To try to reproduce it:

1) Open the login screen configuration tool.

2) Disable the guest account and the grid.

3) Change the background.

4) Reboot.

In my case, the solution was to purge Ubuntu Tweak (aptitude purge), reboot and install it again. Setting the changed values back to the defaults might also do the trick.
