Bug Description

Running Lubuntu 13.04 i386 on a Dell Latitude D620. The program opens and immediately locks up and the process must be killed. I have tried reinstalling as well as installing the trunk version from the PPA and the behavior is persistent.

Could well be a duplicate of Bug #785701 "Inkscape freezes at opening".

Could you please confirm that clearing the recent files list fixes the bug on your computer (workaround from the aforementioned report)?

I'm very sorry but the computer that had this issue has since had the backlight die on the LCD. I was never able to solve my issue with inkscape.
