Bug Description

Binary package hint: krusader

A few words about the circumstances: I have a HP/Compaq nx9010 notebook. Its keyboard has recently failed, so I have plugged it out, and I am using an outer PS/2 keyboard right now. So unfortunately I cannot check this problem with the inner keyboard.

However, with this configuration, the error is quite consistent. If I press any of the function buttons to invoke its feature (F3 to view a file, F7 to create a directory, etc.), Krusader stops accepting keyboard input. Other applications work well, as does Alt+F4, so clearly only Krusader is affected. Also, if I invoke the said functions by clicking on the buttons with the mouse, the error does not manifest, either.

I am using Krusader version 1.80.0~beta1-1 with the KDE 3.5.7 packages from http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-357 feisty main.

After I noticed a similar problem in kpdf, I realized it may be related to the input method (scim). After setting the event flow to dynamic in /etc/scim/config, the error has disappeared. Therefore I have marked this bug as duplicate of #66104.
