No boot menu when I started the live USB drive, only black screen

Bug Description

When I start the live thumb drive, I only get a black blank screen, not a bootloader menu, pressing enter boots the live system.
My machine supports UEFI and my disk partition table is GPT.

Where? in the system it works, or do you mean at the boot menu (there is no volume at the boot menu)?

No, in that bug grub menu shows but he can't access the installation, in my case only a black screen, and after waiting it boots the default entry.

grub doesn't show up? the log files reference grub and a kernel.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. If you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running only once:
apport-collect https://api.launchpad.net/1.0/bugs/1238300

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
