Bug Description

During a distribution upgrade from Edgy to Feisty, I noticed that my download speed is being reported in "kb/s". Using a lower case b denotes kiloBITS ( caps added for emphasis: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilobit ) per second. By checking the download speed in gnome-system-monitor, i verified that the upgrade tool in fact means to say kiloBYTES per second, which is represented with an uppercase B: "kB/s". Even more accurately, they may have meant kibibytes( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kibibyte ) KiB/s, but I can't say for sure without knowing how the program calculates this value.
Download rates are often represented in kilobits or megabits(mostly in advertising), so the units should be expressed correctly to avoid confusion.
