I just upgraded to 15.10 and hit this. I can't use the box because the menu does not come up. Nor can I look at bug 1194732.

This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "xcb".

Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Look like it has a problem finding xcb. I tried sudo apt-get -reinstall install xcb. -- Did not help.

There is a workaround to this problem
from terminal execute the following:

1. sudo apt-get --reinstall install signon-ui
2. sudo apt-get --reinstall install signon-ui-x11
3. sudo apt-get --reinstall install signon-ui-service

Then restart.
It has worked for me.

I had been facing this problem since I upgraded 14.04 to 15.xx and recently 16.10. @kerobyan-mk's method of reinstalling signon-ui worked for me too.
