Bug Description

I upgraded my Kubuntu 13.04 to 13.10 beta2 in my Dell Latitude 5530 laptop.
Before the update the kde battery applet showed the correct battery charge status, while after the update the applet always gives 0% charge status even with a full charged battery.

Here is 'lsb_release -rd' output

I did another check:

as after the 13.04 --> 13.10 upgrade the old 3.8.0-31 kernel had not been removed, I tried to boot the system with the old kernel to see if it was a kernel problem.
But the result was the same: the battery applet still showing 0% with full charged battery.

Besides, the bettery seems to be recognised by the kernel as the following is present in the 'dmesg' output:

dmesg |grep 'battery'
[ 1.171202] ACPI: Battery Slot [BAT0] (battery present)
[ 1.192069] ACPI: Battery Slot [BAT1] (battery absent)

I wonder what the "BAT0 - BAT1" distinction means. My laptop have only one battery, as the 99.99% of all laptops.

Confirmed on Dell Latitude E6530.

Unplugging the power makes the correct power usage show, the indicator also says "Discharging".
Plugging it back, you get "Not Charging". (But it is actually charging).

FWIW, using strace shows that acpi -V reads the battery status from /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0 where the data is indeed...

Similar issue on Kubuntu 13.10 (KDE). Battery shows low level soon after charging. If I plug the cord back in for 1 second and then remove it, the charge goes back up to the right level.
