Bug Description
notes-app fails to launch on unity8 with mir. Unity with Mir authenticates apps based on their desktop file. If a process tries to connect to Mir, and is not clear to unity8 it has a desktop file associated, that connection will be rejected and the app probably crashes.
This is happening with notes-app.
Note in the SurfaceFlinger case, the --desktop_
Would suggest using this line in the desktop file, instead of the wrapper script:
Exec=qmlscene /usr/share/

I’m not really sure why there is a wrapper script to launch the app in the first place. Maybe for autopilot tests?
Anyway, how come unity8 fails to associate /usr/bin/notes-app to /usr/share/ applications/ notes-app. desktop ?
