I've got a few questions that will hopefully help get to the bottom of this. Firstly, does "never power off" mean that you never powered it off, or does it mean that even when a shutdown is invoked it still doesn't power off? Second, do you get the same screen corruption when either suspending or hibernating from the drop down menu?

I meant that some people have troubles on boot after hibernation, but in my case it hangs some time on console screen, then returns to corrupted system screen.
Suspend from dropdown behaves like quick shutdown, not saving current state. Hibernate was disabled by default, I enabled it following guides from askubuntu, but it doesn't work at all. s2disk have similar problem to hibernate

On my laptop I can't save system state neither. I feel unlucky.
Sorry for my English
