HP printer 1007 takes too long time for print

In my new HP laserjet 1007 printer am facing below issues

Some time printers takes too long like 1-2 hrs to print even for small word files(generally when you give first print after reboot of machine).
If there is data in print queue and for some reason unpluged the printer then after plugging of printer the printer goes to disable mode and unless you remove the data from print queue you'll not able to enable printer.

I tried to use it with
CUPS - 1.6.1 and 1.6.3
Hplip - 3.13.4
Kernel - 3.2 / 3.10

In all the above cases I am still stuck with the issues mentioned. I couldnt see anything in cups and access log.
What can be issue.?
