Bug Description

I've upgrade from Ubuntu 13.04 -> 13.10 Final Beta.

I am using a Macbook 5,1. The disk is completely encrypted. To unlock and boot the system I need to enter a password immediately after Grub. However, when booting from the 3.11.0 Kernel, the keyboard doesn't appear to work or the system has hung. Therefore, I can't enter a password and hence cannot boot the laptop. There is also something odd on the screen. When you have to enter the password there are two colons like this : : which should not be there.

Anyhow, the Linux Kernel from the old version is still installed. If I select the Kernel 3.8 then the keyboard works and I can unlock and boot the computer.
