Refusing to initialize GTK+

Bug Description

In Ubuntu 7.10 Tribe 2 when i log-in in a GNOME session is shows me an error message. I have to use the failsafe mode.

I've reinstalled Gutsy and now I can use Ubuntu without problems. I don't know why, but I think I had modified something during the installation because ubiquity was crashed with sudo missed.
Add this bug in the documentation, please.

Hi, I had the same problem.
After changing in my .bashrc the line

alias ls='ls --color=always'

to:

alias ls='ls --color=auto'

my Gnome is starting fine ....

Sounds strange but is reproducible.
