Assume that the native configuration utility monitor frequency conflicts with the proprietary nVidia driver and after a restart or change the user is exposed mode that you selected in the wizard. Normally exhibited mode button "apply" and save the file '/etc/X11/xorg.conf' using the "nvidia-settings", but only for the menu screen of the user's choice. Once you get under the user appears as the mode and frequency of the standard utilities, and not from the driver settings
