Bug Description

When running unity-system-compositor I see the following effect both in lightdm and in unity itself. My screen display as a series of vertical bars wish black bars of roughly equal width between them. It's possible to make out pretty much everything on the screen, and interact with it, but text is illegible.

If I plug in a second screen to the HDMI port on my laptop then Iightdm renders as a predominantly black screen with a little garbage in the middle.

My system is a Thinkpad Edge E525 with an AMD A8-3500m APU with an onboard Radeon HD6620G. I'm using the open source radeon driver - which is stable under Xorg+Compiz in Saucy.

I can confirm this. I also have a ThinkPad Edge, although not the same model.

I think this is related to the radeon graphics drivers.

Having the same problem here (fuzzed display with vertical black bars), with a HD6870 desktop card. That is using today's unity-system-compositor (0.0.1+13.10.20130926.1-0ubuntu1)
