Bug Description
with image #61 the messaging indicator does not change the icon if there is anything to be notified about, it stays the grey envelope instead of changing its color to blue as it should. the other aspects of the indicator seem to work as expected.

This is working in indicator-messages, but doesn't show up due to lp:~nick-dedekind/unity8/unitymenumodel.messages not landing. We're tracking the status of that in bug #1215644.
