Do you have a way to trigger the crash? Looks rather an xorg driver bug than a glib one

So far, I have seen no link in the crashes except the point at which the crash happens, and as a result I haven't found a trigger. However, bug 122875 confirms this in evolution, and probably as a result other applications as well.

what videocard and driver do you use? bug #122875 is a bug, it doesn't show it's due to glib, a way to trigger it and a valgrind would be nice to work on it

Well it may not be due to glib, but the segfault still happens in glib's g_logv() :)

I'm using an Intel i915, with the i810 driver.

something weird is happening with those, bug #122916 title is mentioning g_logv, the error in an assert though

Those bugs are not due to glib, the backtrace just starts on g_logv now when a gdk_x_error or g_assert is triggered

i don't think this is a firefox issue, but compiz related. I added a compiz target to this bug and marking it as invalid for firefox for now.

Can you reproduce after disabling compiz/desktop effects and logging back in with compiz off?

Evgenly,
Can you disable it so you can log in without beryl running and try to reproduce this crash

Bug #123895 was marked as duplicate of this, but from what I remember I was using metacity (I usually use metacity in gutsy because of bug #122949)

Before seeing this crash and reporting duplicate bug #127299, I had just made a few changes to my system: turning off the Restricted (fglrx) driver for my ATI card, enabling Desktop Effects, and upgrading the Better Gmail extension for Firefox to 1.0.

I had launched Firefox via `gnome-open https://mail.google.com/mail/` when the crash appeared.

This bug is likely due to Desktop Effects which still causes wierd issues.

Same video card driver- with desktop effects on or off. Crashes started this morning when ever I try to log into gmail; now have progressed to most web sites. I uninstalled all plugins for the browser and reinstalled firefox and still get the crashes. Only error I get with each crash is the GTK+. "(process: ): Gtk-WARNING **: This process is currently running setuid or setgid.
Refusing to initialize GTK+." Not a compiz problem on my end.
