This attachment may give an indication of the nature of the buggy window which is launched by qtcreator shown in the previous attachment. Here I've switched to a Chrome window, but the overlay window is still there and still painted with whatever was beneath it when it first launched. The window has no decorations and swallows all mouse click events, can't be moved by ALT+RightDrag and only disappears after you quit QtCreator. Of course this makes the tool unusable as a development environment for this flavour of Saucy. No migrating gnome developers!

I've proven the same issue remains after installing xorg-edgers versions of X drivers (I was hoping this might fix it).

Trashing the config with...
 rm -rf .config/QtProject*
...makes no difference.

I'm attaching also a screenshot which indicates that in fact it's 3 weird windows which are launched (presumably one on top of the other).

Note, there are no other windowing issues as far as I know with this desktop - one which I use every day for editing, browsing.

That's a nasty one. On my system the problem occurs on pressing any link in the welcome screen. Though, program freezes clicking on examples link and keeps running clicking other links.

I've the ghost windows opening in Develop, Examples and Tutorials. The main window remains usable in Develop and Tutorials.
In Examples, it shows an empty list of examples. Trying to search does not provide any match.
I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 64b.

Same problem today (May, the 3rd, 2014) with Linux Mint 14 (Based on Ubuntu 12.04).
Several ghost and unresponsive windows appear when navigating the "welcome" system (examples, tutorials, etc.).
I'm using:
- Qt Creator 2.8.1 (from Ubuntu SDK)
- Qt 5.0.2 (from Ubuntu SDK)
I have Qt Creator 2.7 (based on qt 5.0.2) and Qt 4.8 installed, as well (both perfectly functional)

@alexbottoni I reproduced it with Qt 5.0.2 on Linux Mint too, I suppose the fix is released in a later version. I recommend installing Qt 5.3 from http://qt-project.org/downloads , which works fine.
