Bug Description

I'm running Ubuntu 7.04 with all updates on a laptop HP nc6400 connected to a dockingstation.

The issue is that no matter what I do I can't get 1680x1050x60Hz on the monitor connected to the dockingstation.

I've tried everything I have found in forums all over including 915resolution and downloading new Intel package. If I go with 915 resolution it works fine on my laptop
but my possibilites to change to external monitor stops working. The problem is not the graphics in the laptop, this works fine. The problem is on the external monitor
where the Desktop disappears outside the screen.

I've tried to reconfigure xorg in all possible ways but still no luck...and finally I installed Gutsy Tribe 1 just for the fun of it and in this release everything
works like a charm and I get the resolution I want and I can change between my to monitors.

However, Gutsy is not yet ready and I would very much like to get this to work in Feisty. Is there a way to fix this?

Install xserver-xorg-video-intel or compile xserver-xorg-video-i810-modesetting from Debian project. It should fix your issue.
