Get that crash when i click on : System Settings -> Background : first that screen is greyed & shrank, then it crashed

This crash only happens with the ATI catalyst proprietary video driver provided by Ubuntu-partners repository.

hmm nope, this also happens with the free video drivers

This also happens with NVIDIA proprietary display driver, too.
Thus it would be safe to say, this is not dependent on the display driver.

This does not happen anymore with a clean install; so that issue can be closed as it seems a transitional trouble.
