Bug Description

Binary package hint: nfs-kernel-server

I recently installed Ubuntu 6.06 AMD64 with the nfs-common and nfs-kernel-server packages. Both start fine, but when I stop nfs-kernel-server I get the following log entries:

kernel: [4135744.722833] nfsd: last server has exited
kernel: [4135744.722838] nfsd: unexporting all filesystems
kernel: [4135744.724273] RPC: failed to contact portmap (errno -5).

Portmap is still running, so why does RPC report that it can't connect to portmap?

As there has been no activity on this bug and no response to a request for more information for several months, I'm closing this report as invalid. If you can still reproduce this problem with Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, please reopen the bug.
