Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager-vpnc

Hardware: Laptop Dell D600

I've configured Cisco VPN with network-manager-vpnc. Everything is OK while I use WIFI port. However, when I switch to regular ethernet port and try to make connection to this VPN, nothing happens. I've used tcpdump to trace the problem: there are even no packets sent to initiate the VPN session.
I don't know if it's useful, but I use static IP on ethernet and DHCP on WIFI.
One more thing: when I use vpnc from command line, I can set VPN session with no problem, both on WIFI and ethernet.

Is this still an issue in Intrepid or Jaunty?

Hello,

I have had this exact problem. Exact scenario, except different model laptops (Dell D600 and Dell D630) and not using static IP on either wifi or ethernet...running 8.04

I've just checked it on Ubuntu 8.10 (with patches upto 2009-02-03) - now it works from Network Manager both on WIFI and Ethernet with no problem. Exactly the same laptop as in initial request.
