unable to type characters in dash

Unable to type anything into the dash. I'm using an EN input method and keyboard.

- colemak keyboard layout
- nvidia 319 proprietary drivers

Can confirm that this is related to the "COLEMAK" keyboard layout input.

My Chinese input works fine in the dash.

Cannot input using English (US) or English (Canada) either. Somethign wrong with English input into the dash.

Japanese (Anthy) and Chinese (Pinyin) both will type into the dash search.
