Bug Description

Since yesterday, the "Software Updater" popup is displayed about hourly, no matter whether there are updates available. It'll usually only read "The software on this computer is up to date.", I'll click "OK" and an hour or so later it pops up again.
Updating, if there are updates, works fine, so it's not a big problem, but it's still annoying.

Could you please add the output of the command 'gsettings list-recursively com.ubuntu.update-notifier'?

$ gsettings list-recursively com.ubuntu.update-notifier
com.ubuntu.update-notifier auto-launch true
com.ubuntu.update-notifier end-system-uids 500
com.ubuntu.update-notifier hide-reboot-notification false
com.ubuntu.update-notifier no-show-notifications false
com.ubuntu.update-notifier regular-auto-launch-interval 0
com.ubuntu.update-notifier release-check-time uint32 1379922384
com.ubuntu.update-notifier show-apport-crashes true

In my case pop up appears only few times per day not every hour.

A regular-auto-launch-interval of 0 means that update-manager will launch as soon as updates are available. With update-notifier's lack of support for phased-updates it is likely that the notification is due to an update undergoing phasing which update-manager chooses not to install, hence the message your system is up to date.

One way to confirm this would be to include the output of 'apt-get upgrade' in a terminal.
