no backup/restore button on default Gnome panel for desktop systems

Bug Description

There ought to be a backup/restore button on the default Gnome panel for desktop systems. Someone needs to pick an application and make it the default. IMHO, the default configuration should allow you to:
1) backup the logged-in user
2) backup any or all users
3) take a system snapshot without user home directories, preferably in a LiveCD format
4) create a fresh install CD/DVD in LiveCD format

The documentation needs to be improved too, but it should concentrate on whatever the selected
application does, rather than list a dozens of alternatives without much discussion.

Thanks for your report. Your idea might get more attention and have the possibility of being implemented if you submit a specification for it. First check whether the idea is already registered [WWW] https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+specs, and if so, contact the specification's drafter about your ideas. Otherwise, you can start writing a spec yourself. [WWW] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FeatureSpecifications
