Bug Description

If the "Ubuntu Unity Plugin" in Compiz is enabled the GUI is unusable slow:

* switching virtual desktops takes about 1 minute after selecting the new desktop, with a few seconds between each animation step
* moving window is lagging 2 or 3 seconds
* Dash and HUD need > 30 seconds to become visible

If I disable the Unity Plugin in CCSM without changing anything else everything is fine and snappy. Enabeling the Unity Plugin again makes the system slow again.

I seem to have a similar problem. The COG is unbearably slow. I have not been able to run the CCSM. It installs ok, but won't run.

This is not fixed for me
Also on Asus EEE PC with Intel Atom
everything up to date (30. September) and unity is unusable due to slowness.
Just hovering over a launcher icon takes 3 seconds to show the hint
compiz is at 100% cpu for these 3 seconds

Hi All,

This looks like another duplicate of bug #1222602. This is due to a bad bug in Mesa 9.2. Please try the workaround in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1222602/comments/6 and see if it helps.

Thanks!
