Bug Description

When booting with the 3.10.10 kernel, cpufreq indicator is broken :
- the indicator does not show animations when cpu load increases
- There are only PowerSave and Performance in the menu. On Demand and conservative disappeared.

same problem here, I upgraded from kernel 3.9.9 to 3.10.10

Only powersave and performance at the indicator menu.

After upgrade to saucy, this problem seems to be fixed, but not at all my installations, I could not discover why. Same kernel, sources and indicator version. An indicator-cpuf purge and reinstallation could not fix this issue.

I confirm that when upgraded to saucy, the problem disappear.

However, when installing kernel 3.12, I still experience this issue. Linked to ubuntu patch to kernel?

After a bit of digging I found :
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-2179879.html
and
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1188647

So it is because the new intel pstate driver is activated with the new kernel by default. This driver only has performance and powersave settings (which should be enough, and they should be better than the old cpufreq driver).

If you have trouble with this new driver (high cpu consumption, bad performance), you can add intel_pstate=disable to your boot option.

Marking this as invalid I guess.
