Tab key oddity when composing a new message.

My Hoary system has a fr_FR.UTF-8 locale and a french(alternate)(model pc105)
xkb configuration.
When composing a new message, if I insert a tab, a UNICODE char(the square with
the unicode code in) is displayed and the cursor goes far away on the right and
side. I can delete this "char" and everything is back to normal.
