Bug Description

Should be an option to set the exact date (starting/due) from the main task list (there are today, tomorrow, next week etc.). Especially this would be useful for batch setting of the date.

Hi alex,

I would like to work on this feature.
The current option is to set it through the calendar used in the task editor.

I'm trying to show the calendar through the menu ( something like this -

2 - http://i.imgur.com/BeANGRA.png
3 - http://i.imgur.com/KrjHnwk.png
4 - http://i.imgur.com/A0dpGVs.png
Which one would you prefer ? )
, but I need to check first if it also works in gtk3, because the menu isn't designed for such things. So, I can't promise it, but if it works I'll implement it.

But if you have any other idea, please feel free to share, we can discuss it :-)

Hi, Parin.

#4 is the best for me. Also, buttons "tomorrow", "next week" and "next month" could be in the second row under the row "now-soon-someday". I think, "today" and "now" are practically the same and "next year" is so close to "someday" (actually, never used this).

P.S. But, if there are some problems with realization, exact/batch setting would be great thing in a any form.

Hi Alex,

It turns out that adding arbitrary widgets in menu is not the right thing, and I received responses that it should be avoided. It can be done with a hack, but I'm not sure if many users of GTG will like the new way of setting batch dates via a calendar.

So, I've decided to make it a plugin. When enabled, it will add 2 buttons to the toolbar. Here are the screenshots showing it -

- When no task is selected - http://i.imgur.com/OJGBuge.png
- When one or more tasks are selected - http://i.imgur.com/gmjIXJG.png
- Setting start date - http://i.imgur.com/nK9Q7y9.png
- Setting due date - http://i.imgur.com/0mp220h.png

I'll change the icons ( maybe the button label too ). Apart from that, this will be the design and the calendar will function the same way it does in the task editor.

I'd like to hear your feedback :-)

Hi, Parin.

Plugin is the great idea. Forgot about this ability :)

In fact, I see this is usable right now. In case that implementing such options via unified context start/due menu is unwanted, I think current version is good.
