Zim tray icon does not show in current Saucy Salamander daily build

I installed Zim from the main repository (the zim package).
The program works but if you enable the Tray Icon plugin it isn't displayed:
 Edit -> Preferences -> Plugins -> Tray Icon

It works fine in 13.04 and earlier.
According to the package maintainer I should report the problem against Saucy not Zim.
