Bug Description

I noticed on several machines that the time between login through lightdm and the desktop graphics to appear seems to have grown quite a bit. On a i386 netbook with i915 graphics it takes about 15 seconds. On a 64bit Atom based machine with gma500_gfx it even takes longer.
During that time only the mouse pointer and a dark background are visible.

Here is a bootchart from this morning. I guess either that shell or gtk-windows -decorators process started by compiz mark the end of the black screen period. Compared to older bootcharts that shell is started much later and also the other process does start sooner. Both now seem to be blocked to start by "something".
