Example projects generate errors in Gambas

Binary package hint: gambas

Running any of the sample projects that ship with Gambas under Ubuntu 7.04 causes an exception within the Gambas interpreter. Similar things happen when you try and write a Gambas application.

The same/similar version of Gambas which ships with FC6 doesn't present this problem, so I suspect it's a Ubuntu specific packaging issue.

This bug is still present in Hardy.

"Cannot load class 'xxx': Unable to load class file"

Apparently there is a permissions issue with '/usr/share/gambas2/examples'

Yes, but if you load one of the example apps and then save them into your home directory, this by-passes the problem.

Confirmed: this is still an issue in Jaunty so I think for Intrepid...

Still a bug though.

Another workaround could be giving writing permissions to examples directory by running:
sudo chmod -R a+w /usr/share/gambas2/examples/

But It's a dirty one, since any user could change examples' code.
