Bug Description

Binary package hint: krb5-kdc

 I was following the instructions in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SingleSignOn

I'm running dapper i386, and did apt-get update first.

Here are the results of running the first apt-get install listed there:

$ sudo apt-get install krb5-kdc

 Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
 requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
 distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
 or been moved out of Incoming.

 Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
 the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
 that package should be filed.
 The following information may help to resolve the situation:

 The following packages have unmet dependencies:
   krb5-kdc: Depends: libkrb53 (= 1.4.3-5) but 1.4.3-5ubuntu0.3 is to be installed
      Depends: krb5-user but it is not going to be installed
 E: Broken packages

I notice two dependencies for the same kerberos library package:
  libkrb53 (= 1.4.3-5ubuntu0.3)
    MIT Kerberos runtime libraries
  libkrb53 (>= 1.4.2)

I don't really know how to interpret that, but perhaps only the second is necessary?

Sorry - operator error :-)

The failure was caused by an inconsistency in /etc/apt/sources.list
which had universe multiverse for dapper but not dapper-security

But it seems like apt-get shouldn't recommend a bug report on the package without also suggesting, or diagnosing, a problem in its own configuration.
