Bug Description

I am hoping it is possible to get a PHP 5 Install with SImpleXML for our loco. I am working on moving us to the official servers and I guess none of my scripts will work with out PHP 5 & SimpleXML support.

Hi Nick,

The main loco server doesn't have php5 on it, instead it has php4. However, I'm not sure what the context of this e-mail is. Are you already being hosted? If so, what team is it? Also, what program are you trying to use?

Hi Matthew

We had just got hosted the other day. We are the Colorado Local Team. What we are trying to run is a custom frame work based on Wordpress. Yes, Wordpress will run on PHP4 but all the extra features that we have constructed will only work on a PHP5 framework. As well as a few of the extras do API calls to various other services and hopefully more services in the future. Currently all those API calls work off of cURL and SimpleXML. Hope this explains our problem a little bit better.

Sorry about not being specific in my first post.

I also forgot to add. The main reason for so much crazy addition to the framework is that we are trying to build a framework that other locos that do not have the time or the man power to develop a website. Can hopefully just download our Wordpress add-ons and get there own site up and running with in a few minutes. We are working on finding out what we need as a team from the website and testing out everything before we work on getting a release out for the others to use.

Just as a sidenote, I've used http://www.ister.org/code/simplexml44/index.html for the simple XML needs I had, though it doesn't support xpath().
