Bug Description

[Because lo-menubar couldn't be installed via

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install lo-menubar

due to dependency problems ("lo-menubar : Depends: libreoffice-gtk but it is not going to be installed"), which couldn't be resolved via synaptic, I deployed lo-menubar using the following method (which worked for me in libreoffice-4-0):]

Extract

home/downloads/lo-menubar_0.1.1-0ubuntu0.1_i386.deb package with file roller

and sudo copy

home/downloads/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/extensions/menubar folder

to

/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/extensions/

lo-menubar integrates libreoffice-4-1 into the menubar fully (see attached screenshot).
However, when clicking any item in the menubar (not merely hovering over it like in screenshot), libreoffice crashes.

Well, 3.6/4.0/4.1 have a menubar implementation right in LibreOffice itself -- though this needs the respective newer unity versions.
Thus lo-menubar should not used with these versions. So on precise, use a LibreOffice 3.5.x version from the archive or update to a newer Ubuntu release.
