Bug Description

I cannot subscribe to a podcast feed at http://echo.msk.ru/guests/12844/rss-audio.xml with Banshee.

Expected result: podcast files are displayed
Actual result: Banshee shows 'Network error' message

I tried to subscribe to the same podcast feed with Rhythmbox and didn't have any problems, so it must be Banshee-specific.

Could you check if you have the "Disable features requiring Internet access"
option checked in the Preferences dialog? If so, please disable it and try
again.

Otherwise, could you get the debug log using the instructions at
http://banshee.fm/contribute/file-bugs please?

It doesn't look like there are any log entries regarding the podcast feed. Could
you get the output again while reproducing the error?

This podcast feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/americhka/oBlg works fine, while the two feeds I have indicated above don't work. In Rhythmbox all the three feeds work fine.

Very odd. http://echo.msk.ru/guests/12844/rss-audio.xml works for me, and I'm
seeing DNS resolution failures in your log. Are you using a proxy of any sort
with Rhythmbox?

Can you try running "ping echo.msk.ru"?

Okay, so you don't have a DNS issue there. I don't understand why it's throwing
up name resolution errors though. Could you try adding the podcast again and
seeing what error you get this time?

This weekend I am visiting my parents who live in another city, of course, I connect to the internet via a different ISP than home. I tried to add the podcast again, and it worked like a charm. I am alsmost certain that the problem was with DNS, it could be an out-dated entry in DNS cache on ISP side,

Thank you for helping me, I am closing the bug.
