Bug Description

Upgrade failed from latest raring to saucy development. Success was expected. Fortunately it was done in a sandbox so no damage occured.

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
The package 'unity' is marked for removal but it is in the removal
blacklist."

I believe this is because you've installed unity on a Xubuntu system, and then during the upgrade process unity is selected for removal but it is on the blacklist so the upgrade fails.

I started from a server install of 10.04 on which I added Xubuntu. Unity
must have gotten picked up along the upgrade path.

The unity package should be removed from the blacklist during distribution upgrade (or at least when Ubuntu is not installed).

A workaround is to manually remove unity, but since the error message only shows up in the log files it is not at all intuitive to fix it.
