Bug Description

Ubuntu Release 12.04.2 LTS
Package ejabberd 2.1.10-2ubuntu1.1

After a clean installation with "sudo apt-get -o DPkg::options::=--force-confmiss --reinstall install ejabberd" starting ejabberd fails with:

"Starting jabber server: ejabberd
Crash dump was written to: /var/log/ejabberd/erl_crash.dump
Kernel pid terminated (application_controller) ({application_start_failure,kernel,{shutdown,{kernel,start,[normal,[]]}}})"

Same results with ejabberd 2.1.6-2.1, so maybe a problem with erlang itself?

Cannot be reproduced on a fresh installation of Ubuntu Release 12.04.2 LTS
