Bug Description

Hi once again! I tried to remove an icon from gnome-panel in gnome3.4 with Alt-right mouse key using Onboard. For some reason, left Alt didn't work, while right Alt (labeled Alt Gr) did. Are they meant to be different? Thanks!

Hi, welcome back.

Left Alt is special, because window managers usually block left Alt + left click from reaching applications. This is their short-cut for window movement.

Onboard works around this by wrapping key presses in Alt-press and -release events as long as the Alt key is pressed down. I've checked the code and this wrapping is blocked for all "buttons", which includes the click buttons. This is probably too restrictive. I see what I can do.

Done, I think. It works better than expected. I can actually move windows around with left Alt + drag click or get to the window menu with left Alt + right click.

Caveat: this is only available if the XInput event source is active (default). Too tricky to add to GTK mode.
