Bug Description

kernel 3.11.0.1-generic from ubuntu 13.10 (installed on top of ubuntu 13.04):

Kernel module r8169 is present in config file /boot/config-3.11.0-1-generic, but missing from the deb package, thus wired network is not available.

This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem. From a terminal window please run:

apport-collect 1211680

and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'.

Because of the bug, the machine has no network, so can't run the apport-collect command.

You forgot to install linux-image-extra. Note that what you are doing is not a supported configuration.
