Button to turn off touchpad not working, Xubuntu 13.07 on ASUS x202e

Running Xubuntu 13.04 on an ASUS x202e.

Unlike my Ubuntu 13.04 installation, I'm unable to turn off the touchpad using Fn-F9 in Xubuntu.

Other Fn-F* keys like volume, mute, brightness all work.

Phil Gomes, as per http://www.asus.com/us/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_VivoBook_X202E#support_Download_8 an update is available for your BIOS (206). If you update to this, does it change anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
