Bug Description

Every login als guest user creates an entry in /etc/password, /etc/group and /etc/shadow but there is no cleanup. Some time, it is not possible to login as a guest, because these password-files are "full".

Only manual deletion of all these guest-entries resolves this issue.

I have also seen left behind guest accounts but I believe they're on some failure case, not the normal case.

It ws the lightdm version, which comes with Ubuntu 12.04. It's the computer of a friend of mine. She logs in as a guest *very* often. I will check it again next time, when I get this laptop in my hands.

I checked it again ... there are 124 new entries named "guest-..." in /etc/passwd, /etc/group and /etc/shadow. The lastest patches were installed.

Same problem on 14.10 utopic. Slowly building up a long list of guest- accounts.

It would be nice if the guest accounts would be cleaned up forcefully on a regular base.

I took the liberty of adding the people who appear in /usr/sbin/guest-account in the hope that maybe they can help to get this solved. Or at least know who should be notified of this issue. Thanks a lot for any help!
