I'm looking at the filename in the FTP site, and it's -?- or dash emdash dash, such as:

Login-–-OpenStack-Dashboard.png
or
Login-?-OpenStack-Dashboard.png

Hoping David Cramer can sort out the bug with the maven plugin, but in the meantime, changing the file names so they're not three dashes should fix it.

What's the bug I'm looking for in the plugin? What are the steps to reproduce?

Steps to reproduce:
1. Refer to an image file with three dashes in the file name.
2. Build with the maven plugin.
3. In the figures/##/figures directory, the image file name is renamed.

Expected behavior:
The exact image file name will be referenced in the HTML source and copied to the figures directory.

I'm not seeing this on my system (Linux). I wonder if it's being munged when it's ftped.

Btw., note that the middle dash in that file name is an mdash. As a best practice users should only name files with normal ascii characters (a-z, 0-9, dash, underscore, period).

I could modify validate.py to ensure only ascii characters are present in filenames. Is it worth it?

Lorin, I think it's probably not worth it to test for it. But of course I can be convinced otherwise.
