This happened to me when I clicked the close button on the update manager window during an upgrade. Not sure the button should be active at all? And if anything, there should be a confirmation dialog whether you really want to cancel the upgrade.

This bit me while mysql-apt-config package from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/repo/apt/ was being updated by Update Manager. Deadlock on some apt lock?

Also, forgot to mention: It was just not progressing (on two separate Ubuntu 14.04 systems with nearly identical configurations) but when I clicked the close button on the Update Manger, the crash reporter came up, and I saw my crash report was being classified as a duplicate of this bug.

I got false positive and it brought me here, not sure what happened exactly, but the crash dialog came up and said that the update-manager had closed unexpectedly, but it did not actually close, it successfully completed the updates. Not sure if this is useful or not but there you go.

Some times ago I wrote an invalid password into the field it asked and since then it wont let me write anything again it just states that "Invalid Password" and me like if no go than no go then click on the close button of the software updater that crashes something in the background but the windows are still there so those I killed with xkill and
after all
I am here to tell, and ask why does it ask for the secure boot password? What IS the password for the Secure boot?
Is there a way to avoid the red secure boot violation without turning off the secure boot?
I have a native authentic windows upgraded from 7 to 10, on the laptop.
