Bug Description
It would be nice if Synaptic (or another Ubuntu system) would allow one to
double click on .deb files in Nautilus and choose "Install...". A nice wizard
would appear, directing you through the process. Support for multiple .deb files
at the same time, or resolving .deb files from other .deb files in the same
directory would be ideal.
This would allow people to build and distribute .deb files to others in a
traditional non-apt way. Also I'd be useful for me. =)

Thanks for your bugreport.
This is a very usefull idea. For a proper implementation it will need support bugs.debian. org/cgi- bin/bugreport. cgi?bug= 47379 for more information.
from libapt (the library that synaptic is build upon). It requires quite a few
internal changes to do this. See
